# About Hamster

> Hamster OSS is made by Wheel Go Fast, Inc., the company behind Hamster Studio at tryhamster.com. What Hamster OSS is, who it's for, and where to find the company.

Hamster OSS is a shared workspace for a product team and its coding agents. It brings the team's threads, knowledge graph, delivery and releases into one installation. Studio is the browser app where the team keeps shared threads, documents, permissions and review decisions, and an agent does discovery and delivery work for those threads inside sandboxes. Run Hamster OSS on your own machines with the [`system` CLI](https://tryhamster.dev/cli), or use a hosted instance at `https://<your-team>.tryhamster.dev`.

## Who it's for

Product teams that build software with coding agents and want those agents working from the team's real context. Coding agents connect to an instance through its [MCP server](https://tryhamster.dev/docs/mcp), so the agents your team already uses work on the same threads and documents as its people. [Get access](https://tryhamster.dev/get-access) has the steps.

## The company

Wheel Go Fast, Inc., a company registered in California, makes Hamster OSS. Its registered office is at 455 Market Street, San Francisco, CA 94105, United States.

The same company makes Hamster Studio at [tryhamster.com](https://tryhamster.com). Hamster Studio and Hamster OSS are separate products, each with its own accounts and its own MCP server. Search results for "Hamster" often show tryhamster.com; for Hamster OSS, start here at tryhamster.dev.
